Leadership and management skills strongly correlate to business growth and success and play a significant role in influencing employee performance and enhancing business competitiveness.

Investing in developing the management skills of your workforce is a key way of ensuring the future success of your business.

The Solent Leadership Academy, a partnership between Fareham College, The Isle of Wight College, Fareport Training and the Solent LEP, is a dedicated training provision that delivers flexible, high quality Level 4 & 5 management and leadership qualifications through a higher apprenticeship model.

This training is developed specifically for employees who are already working in managerial roles and looking to develop their skills and gain a recognised qualification in order to aid career progression and take on greater responsibility in the workplace.

Following the successful bid for funding to the Solent Employer Ownership of Skills Programme via the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP); the Solent Leadership Academy seeks to develop a unique collaboration designed to create a Leadership and Management Academy for employers and providers in the Solent area.

The Leadership Academy is driven by employers to ensure that a sustainable, need focused course is delivered. We strive to work collaboratively to ensure the design and delivery of an innovative leadership and management programme.

The majority of training is directly linked to the position an employee already holds.

Learners will use their practical experience in the workplace as evidence to complete a series of assignments, and will develop additional formalised knowledge by attending masterclasses held at The Fareham Innovation Centre in Lee-on-the-Solent.

Courses start throughout the year so employees can begin at a time that suits the individual and your organisation.

Our enthusiastic tutors have extensive experience in managerial roles across a range of sectors, and multiple resources are provided to support your employee’s training.

As well as attending dedicated masterclasses to develop underpinning leadership principles, learners will maintain regular contact with their tutor for ongoing support throughout the duration of the qualification. Learners also receive regular workplace visits from an assessor to review progress and discuss individual action plans.

Our leadership & management courses are accredited; meaning the qualification your employees achieve will be nationally recognised.

As a Matrix Standard organisation, our overall commitment to training and best practice has been highly recognised and commended.
